Hello! I am Jason and I hail from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where it is summer all year round with all its tropical goodness.
Let me just put it out there that I am NOT:
- a Certified Financial Planner;
- a super rich m(b)illionnaire;
- a “guru” that is here to teach you how to get rich in just 5 simple steps;
- one who claims to be any of the above
You get my drift. This website and all its contents are purely shared from my experiences, knowledge attained, and personal take. I am a very real person who has a career in the corporate finance advisory field focused in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) – in simple terms I help my clients buy and sell businesses.
The one thing that I know is that I have a crazy passion for finance and money, whereby I have helped a few friends look into their finances and shared with them my views based on my experience as a guiding light. Somehow, numbers just click for me. Why start writing instead of youtube/videos? I’m an avid reader and have also, in my lifetime, did some story writing for fun – some abandoned projects refer HERE – and enjoyed the experience.
As for my personal finance story, I began like every average joe / person right out the bat. Find the best job after graduation that can give me the best start ever. Work myself senseless, pulling all-nighters, just to get the next promotion and the next pay rise and a decent bonus every year.
Hit the RM100k milestone in my 4th year of working, with a little help from investing in the stock market.
Took a 1-year break after 5 years of work and naively drove down my bank balance to the bottom. Right after I realised the slippery slope I slipped down, I quickly picked myself back up to accumulate wealth from nothing again.
With that, I’m back on track. This will definitely be an ongoing journey and I will keep on picking up new experiences and knowledge.
Hopefully, in some small or big way, my sharing through my posts will be of value to others too.
